Type foundries now offering trial licenses
September 30, 2014
I came across the recently re-launched The Design Files website today – really impressed.
One of the typefaces used on the site is GT-Walsheim, by the Grilli Type Foundry. So I checked out the price and licensing options for web font usage.
This is the second time this week I’ve come across a great looking type foundry website, with killer, modern typefaces offering trial licensing for their wares. The first was Dalton Maag.
It gives designers – and even web developers for that matter– the ability to grab a hold of the font in desktop applications, on the web, and really test it out.
The foundries have loosened their grip a little, and it can only result in a healthier, more honest type industry where ultimately, people pay for the fonts they use.
Great work guys!
